Hanging with Rochelle from Lucky Lucille

It's weird to say that I met my BFF in person nine days ago, but that's what I did. During the days of Sew Colette I became aware of Rochelle and her blog Lucky Lucille and just loved her super cool style and fun personality. We first started e-mailing each other and now, years later, a day rarely goes by without us texting. We talk about sewing, dogs, cats, problems, and triumphs, but had never met in person because she lives in New York. You can imagine how excited I was when she told me she was visiting California!

Wil and Luke hanging outside talking skateboarding. Frankie is looking for Rochelle and I.

Luke, Frankie (my pup) and I made a really quick trip to Oakland and got to spend Sunday morning/afternoon with Rochelle and her boyfriend Wil. We met at Actual Cafe, shopped for pretty yarns and fabric at A Verb For Keeping Warm, and ended our adventure at Stonemountain and Daughter Fabrics.

A Verb for Keeping Warm.

Rochelle, Frankie, and I at Stonemountain.

Stonemountain had some good options for the Cat Lady Sewing Challenge!

Rochelle is just as amazing in person as you would think. And yes, the shirt she is wearing is flawlessly made. I think an East Coast trip is in order because now that we've hung out there is no way I'm not going to see her again! New York meetup anyone? :)

  6. You two are so cute, looks like you had a blast together! I have yet to make it to Stonemountain in Oakland, it's on my list! Love your kitty print fabrics up there, did you find one for your Cat Lady Sewing Challenge? I bought mine the other day, they had JUST ENOUGH on the bolt to make my dress happen. Can't wait to see what everyone makes! :)

  9. First of all: I don't like cats but that pink and black cat print is amazing.
Second of all: Make that meetup closer to Buffalo/Niagara and on a weekend and I might be able to swing it!! :)
