Mad Men

You guys. This is how gross I am  ready I am for the new season of Mad Men. I went to AMC's website and saw that there was an option to Mad Men Yourself. So I did.

Just chillin with Don Draper.

I am officially a huge creeper with too much time on my hands!!! Oh, there is also a party guide that gives you tips on throwing your own Mad Men themed party. It gives suggestions for music, drinks, decorating, invitations, and more. Should I throw a party????

  1. Those pictures are a riot: they look exactly like you!

And DEFINITELY throw a party! Husband built himself a liquor cabinet, stocked it, thrifted fancy glasses and shakers, and learned to mix cocktails all in about a month because Mad Men infected him so much with this idea. The first attempt was a bit awkward, since our crowd are more a 'craft beer and hummus' group than a 'vintage mixed drinks,' but our latest attempt went wonderfully once people loosened up and started mixing their own drinks.

Maybe next time (for the Mad Men premiere? Hmm...) I'll make something horrible out of Jell-O! I'm fascinated by some of the allegedly-edible recipes here (http://lileks.com/institute/gallery/), but... not enough to force any of them on friends I want to keep. Pimento cheese and crackers sound MUCH safer!

  2. That is so cool that he got so into it! The more I think about it the more I want to have a party. Like you, many of our friends are more beer drinkers than cocktail drinkers, but to get in the spirit of things I think they should drink some old fashioneds with me! :) Oh, I should go thrift store shopping for some cute plates now!

  4. awesome. i did it. and you know Jessi and Curtis would totally be the perfect guests for a madmen party!! I'd be down, sounds fun. You should make it a sewing challenge/cocktail party, making your outfit is optional! I guess you have plenty of sewing going on already tho, between Collette and quilts...

    1. Oh I totally had them in mind when I was thinking about it! I will keep you posted if I do it :) Not sure on sewing a dress anymore. I have been debating it the last few weeks and if I rushed sewing something it might stress me out :(
