Little Frankie

I wanted to say THANK YOU for all the sweet and helpful comments on my post last week about my new dog Frankie, especially to Rochelle! She went above and beyond and emailed me several times with tips and answered all of my annoying questions :)

Just to update everyone, Frankie is doing great! She is practically potty trained, comes when called for the most part, and understands what "no" means, which is so awesome! She is the sweetest dog and loves to cuddle. I am so lucky to have such a well mannered dog. It has definitely been an adjustment for me and the cats though. She is not mean towards the cats, but doesn't understand why they don't want to play with her and chase her around. It has been hard because she gets jealous when I am petting them, she pushes them aside and hops in my lap, which is something we need to work on.

P.S. Veronica pointed out that our dogs are twinnies. Isn't Doris Day so cute???

  1. She looks like a happy dog! When she edges in on the kitties, try to ignore her. If you pet her when she does that, she's getting what she wants, and that reinforces the bad behavior. I've been surprised how well my younger dog responded to being ignored. :)

  2. I'd say that our hardest issue with Blitz is his interaction with the kitties. He wants to play, but he's huge and scares the kitties. They hate him :(. He gets jealous of the cats, too. They all three sleep on the bed at night and he HATES it. His new gig is always just jumping on the bed like it's his. Every night we go thru a routine with him. Once he comes in, he pesters the cats until he gets tired of either that, or being hit on the nose by a rolled up magazine. Then he goes to sleep and is pretty much the best dog ever :)

  8. Aaaaw, doginson!!! She so freaking cute :) At least she's cool with cats... Mushka wants to chase them. Maybe eat them! The only cat she was cool with was deaf, and therefore didn't run from her.
