Books, books, books!

I ordered this book because my friend Libbi and I are doing a book club and this is our first book we are reading together. Well, technically we are not reading it together since I am a slacker and she is almost done with it :(

Luke and I watched the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" which was a real eye opener on the type of food we are putting into our bodies. Within fifteen minutes of watching the movie I had ordered the two juicing books pictured above. Yesterday we purchased the Jack Lalanne juicer at Costco. It's about to get real guys, we're going to start juicing. Does anyone else juice?

And to counteract the juicing I'm going to make desserts from this book, ha! I pre-ordered it months ago and it came in on Saturday. There are a few recipes that seem somewhat healthier than the "original" versions. I will post some photos after I make something.

I seriously think about this book everyday and can't wait for it to be released. Good news, it's getting released a few weeks earlier than originally stated. Cool! Amazon told me that I could have it by Friday at the earliest! This has to be my most wanted book of 2011.

I got this book at Costco yesterday.

Hmmm, maybe I will settle down on the book buying for a bit. I am pretty well stocked up, for now at least.

  2. A similar documentary that is supposed to be good is, "Forks over Knives." I haven't seen it yet, but the trailer alone made me think long and hard about my food choices.

Also, I've been waiting for the Colette Pattern's book too! I love that company and am working on a Sorbetto pattern right now. I'm crossing my fingers that my book will get here by the end of the week. Good luck with your juicing. :)

  3. Andrea, Libbi (the person that commented before you) also recommended that documentary to me. I am going to put it on my Netflix list now! :)

Let me know how the Sorbetto pattern goes! I have cut everything out for the Rooibos pattern, but have gotten sidetracked. With the holidays I probably won't get around to doing it until next year :(

  4. I saw that doc a few months ago. I wanted to start juicing too after seeing it, but its extremely cost prohibitive when you get down to it. I'm already on a very tight budget, though with all these pomegranates I wish I had a juicer just to take the work out of them! LOL
